Originated in 1868 from some discarded apples which Mrs. Thomas Smith of Eastwood Ryde, Paramatta Rive, New South Wales, Australia brought from Tasmania. Fruit is large, waxy, grass-green fruit is firm and bruise resistant. Fruit is moderately sweet, snappy flavor, superb eating and cooking qualities. It keeps good texture during baking and never gets mushy.
