Chance seedling discovered in 1935 in Edneyville NC, by local apple grower William Dalton. The apple is very large with irregular shape. It has greenish-yellow skin, flushed with deep red and darker red stripes. The flesh is off-white, crisp, juicy, finely textured with good flavor. Outstanding baking and cooking apple! It ripens mid Sept.
