(Macoun X Purdue 54-12) This is the most disease resistant apple variety (released in1978) ever developed by the Purdue University breeding program. The fruit is medium to large, bright, shiny, McIntosh-type fruit with 90% red blush. The fruit is crisp, juicy, with a light yellow flesh, plus a sprightly flavor. It is ideal for eating out of hand, cooking, canning or desserts with good storage until Feb. It ripens mid to late Sept.
